In an event just as, if not more so, endearing and emotional as seeing a baby eat a lemon for the first time; the IGN writers got a look at their own website without Adblock for the very first time ever.
“Oh no!” “Oh my goodness…” “Whoops!”
The IGN Xbox team struggled to navigate their own site as they stumbled around the distracting and obnoxious IGN ads, accidentally clicking one in the middle of a video preview detailing the new Xbox Dashboard.

“You just clicked on [the Playboy ad]. Should we even be watching this?”
One of their biggest criticisms of the new Xbox Dashboard is the addition for more windows for ads, which they even took the opportunity to report on their site methods to get rid of them, using the tag line “Some simple steps to freedom”.
However, the same standards obviously do not apply to themselves.
IGN Entertainment implements the ‘self-serve’ Shiny Ads platform, which allows advertisers to log into the IGN website and upload their own ads with full customization and readership targeting. This makes creating and spreading ads on the website easier than ever before, being able to create personalized ads for each viewer.
Obviously, the IGN advertisers thought Playboy would be a good fit for the IGN Xbox team.
This is just adorable.
